Data Protection
How I use Your Information.
Protecting your information and maintaining full confidentiality is of utmost importance to me, throughout the entire therapy process.
When you visit www.berlin-counselling.com, I use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns with the use of cookies. I do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone.
When using the online calendar, I use the data that you entered and is related to your email address, telephone number, and home address. This data is stored in a secured cloud service provided by a third party: “eTermin”. This is a cloud-based online calendar service that is GDPR compliant. I require personal information such as your name and address for your invoices and my accounts. I don’t share any information. Your name and address are visible to any relevant financial services dealing with my tax submissions (Finanzamt).
I will not contact you unless related to scheduling appointments, sending invoices and anything related to your therapy process.
Permission to contact you via email is limited to me (Bertine de Jongh), with the only exception being if you scheduled an online appointment using the online calendar with one of my colleagues. Your personal information will then be visible to the colleague you booked an appointment with.
Once you have commenced therapy, your information is stored securely and is deleted after the period specified by the ethical guidelines for “Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie” in Germany. For practice administration, and GDPR-compliant documentation, I use a cloud-based practice management software. Data is stored encrypted on servers located in Germany.
Treatment notes will be deleted after the required period period for Heilpraktiker in Germany has ended.
If you did enter your data online via the online calendar system, but you do not for any reason commence therapy and do not incur any costs for which you are invoiced, then your data will be deleted within one month after you entered it.
A full official report on data protection is available in German here.
